With roots in Canadian construction and infrastructure development, Aecon brings experience in complex project delivery, public-private partnerships, and large-scale infrastructure systems. Its work includes projects that require construction expertise, project coordination, technical capacity, financing structures, and long-term infrastructure planning.

From the WMA’s perspective, Aecon brings major infrastructure and construction capacity that can support Mi’kmaw participation in complex project delivery. This relationship is relevant where energy, storage, transmission, and infrastructure projects require experienced partners, strong project systems, and the ability to move work from planning into construction.

Together, we're working on:

Trenton Battery Energy Storage 

Town of Trenton, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, in Piktuk, Mi’kma’ki. The project is near Pictou Landing First Nation and the Trenton Industrial Park.
A proposed 150 MW battery energy storage project in Trenton, Nova Scotia, developed by NRStor, WMA, and Aecon to support grid reliability, store renewable energy, reduce reliance on coal, and create long-term economic value for Mi’kmaw communities.
